Abstract
The charge density around a static charge is investigated within finit e temperature QCD and compact QED both in the chirally broken and symm etric phase. We display the functional behavior of the charge polariza tion for various masses of the sea particles and for static sources in higher representations. The total induced charge is found to be consi stent with the results from the MILC Collaboration.
