Abstract
Dysprosium bis(tetraphenylporphyrinate) and bis(dysprosium)tris(tetrap henylporphyrinate) were synthesized from dysprosium tetraphenylporphyr inate prepared in situ, and characterized by IR, UV-vis, TGA, DTA, EPR and magnetic susceptibility measurements. The double decker compound was obtained by-direct oxidation of the HDy(TPP)2 intermediate. The ex istence of the radical anion, (TPP)-., in the double decker product wa s confirmed by EPR spectrometry. Dysprosium monoporphyrinate was isola ted and characterized by the same techniques.
