R. Subraminian et al., SPECTROSCOPIC STUDIES ON SOME MIXED-LIGAND METALLIC COMPLEXES FORMED WITH 2 DIFFERENT TRIDENTATE LIGANDS, Polyhedron, 13(6-7), 1994, pp. 993-997
Metallic complexes of the type ML1L2(BPh4)2 [M = Cu,Zn,Cd; L1,L2 = 3,3
'-diaminodipropylamine (dpt), diethylene triamine (dien) and N,N,N',N'
',N''-pentamethyl dien, BPh4 = tetraphenylborate] have been prepared a
nd studied by IR, electronic and electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR)
spectroscopy. The complexes are found to possess MN6 chromophores hav
ing elongated rhombic octahedral symmetry. The CuN6 clusters are found
to be more fluxional than the Zn/CdN6 atom sets. The tetragonalities
(T) of these complexes are found to lie in the range 0.83-0.865.
