Abstract
The crystal structure and electronic (absorption and emission) spectra of a new neodymium azide complex are presented. The structure is comp osed of ethylenediammonium cations and anionic polymeric network built up from azide anions and neodymium cations. The neodymium environment consists of nine nitrogen atoms. The absorption spectra show high int ensity of the hypersensitive I-4(9/2) double line arrow pointing right 4G5/2, 2G7/2 transition. The Judd-Ofelt analysis is presented.
