Abstract
ydro-3-thioxo-thieno[2,3-d]isothiazole-1,1-dioxide and 2,3-Dihydro-3-t hioxo-thieno[3,2-d]isothiazole 1,1-dioxide are reacted with diazoalkan es in ether/methanol to give 3-alkylthio derivatives and 2-alkyl-3-alk ylen products. These can be synthesized directly from the 2-methyl-3-t hioxo compounds, for example, by adding diazomethane or diazoethane. T he isomers with diazoethane are separated.
