Abstract
Facile unequivocal syntheses of the title compounds are reported by re acting monothiomalonamide, 1a, or its anilide analogue, 1b, with alpha -cyanocinnamonitriles 2a-c. Chemical and spectroscopic evidences for t he structures of the newly synthesised compounds are described.
