EXPERIMENTAL ESTIMATIONS OF THE STATIONARITY OF UNDERWATER OCEAN NOISE

Results of an analysis of experimental investigations on the variabili ty and stationarity of noise fields are discussed. Findings on the bou ndaries of quasi-stationary intervals of noise signal realizations are presented for various conditions of noise field generation and format ion. The effects of overpassing squalls, gusty and stormy winds, and s trong surface and internal waves on the stationarity of ocean noise ar e demonstrated, and the boundaries of quasi-stationary intervals of no ise in stable weather conditions are determined.
