Abstract
A new type of acoustic objective lens for acoustic microscopes has bee n developed. Its piezoelectric element is a thin textured piezoelectri c film deposited by vacuum evaporation on a concave spherical substrat e surface. The new textured material with high piezoelectric parameter s was found to considerably increase the signal-to-noise ratio and to improve the image quality.
