QUANTIFICATION OF TIAPROFENIC ACID USING VOLTAMMETRIC AND SPECTROPHOTOMETRIC TECHNIQUES

Two methods for the determination of tiaprofenic acid (Surgam) are des cribed. Direct current polarography and cyclic voltammetry were used t o study the reduction behaviour of tiaprofenic acid, whereas direct cu rrent stripping voltammetry was applied to the quantitative measuremen t of the drug in dosage form and in biological media. The spectrophoto metric method depends on the determination of the drug after extractio n as an ion-association complex with Safranine-T in chloroform at pH 7 .4.
