Ir. Martinez et al., MICELLE-STABILIZED ROOM-TEMPERATURE PHOSPHORIMETRIC PROCEDURE FOR THEDETERMINATION OF NAPROXEN AND PROPRANOLOL IN PHARMACEUTICAL PREPARATIONS, Analyst, 119(5), 1994, pp. 1093-1097
A direct and simple procedure for the determination of naproxen and pr
opranolol in pharmaceutical preparations was developed. The procedure
was based on the measurement of the room-temperature phosphorescence o
f sodium dodecyl sulfate micellar solutions of the drugs. The appropri
ate experimental conditions to obtain a reproducible and maximum phosp
horescence signal, when sulfite is used to eliminate the oxygen from t
he micellar solutions, were studied. The results of the analysis of se
veral pharmaceutical preparations were satisfactory. The presence of h
ydralazine in pharmaceuticals containing propranolol gave low values o
wing to quenching of the phosphorescence signal.
