The interaction between combustion and turbulence in a hydrogen/air/mi
xture is reviewed from the point of view of both modelling and experim
ent. Effects of combustion on the structure of turbulence and effects
of turbulence on the flame kernel development in tubes are discussed.
A two-dimensional flow algorithm is presented to calculate the flame f
olding in the early burning phase after ignition. Recent experimental
results on turbulent flame and detonation propagation are shown.
