Abstract
The clinical course of a case of primary thrombocythemia is described, complicated by a variety of recurrent and sequential thrombotic manif estations, involving the peripheral as well as the cerebrovascular and coronary microvasculature, demonstrating that thrombocythemia should be considered as an important risk factor for thrombosis, already at p latelet count states in excess of 400 x 10(9)/L.
