Abstract
In 1956, 99% of all medical schools required a clinical rotation throu gh urology during year 3 or 4. By 1978 this percentage had decreased t o 48% and currently it is only 38%. In addition, an estimated 10 to 15 % of medical school graduates have never been exposed to urology (no l ectures and no clinical rotation). Urological diseases continue to com prise a significant percentage of problems encountered by primary care physicians. The Education Council of the American Urological Associat ion has adopted urological education objectives that should be incorpo rated into the curriculum of every medical school.
