Abstract
Mono- and di-nitroaromatic compounds react with carbon monoxide in ben zene containing methanol, with catalytic quantities of 1,3-bis(dipheny lphosphino)propanepalladium dichloride and potassium carbonate as the base, to give urethanes in reasonable yields.
