Abstract
A beneficial effect could be obtained by treating chronic virus C hepa titis in hemodialysis patients with human recombinant 2 alpha interfer on (HuIFN-alpha). The levels of IFN-alpha were measured at baseline an d after exogenous administration to hemodialysis patients. The results showed that the IFN-alpha levels were higher in HVC positive patients compared to HVC negative. A baseline the exogenous human IFN-alpha ki netics were similar to those described in patients with normal renal f unction and were not affected by the type of dialysis membrane.
