A theoretical description of the one-pulse and two-pulse coherent Rama
n beat (CRB) EPR experiment based on the linear regime approximation i
s presented. It is shown that both experiments are basically superposi
tions of three-pulse stimulated echo experiments. Analytical expressio
ns for the description of the CRB EPR experiments are given. The predi
cted features are verified experimentally and by model calculations. I
n particular, the delay and the blind spot behavior of the two-pulse C
RB signal are examined as is the influence of the pulse length on the
intensity of the one-pulse CRB signal.
