The oxidation of the alpha-amino acidato cobalt(III) complexes with 2,
3,2-tet (=3,7-diazanonane-1,9-diamine) or its derivative, where amino
acidate ligand was phenylglycinate, alaninate, valinate N-methylalanin
ate, or prolinate, by potassium permanganate was achieved to yield the
corresponding alpha-imino acidato complexes, [Co(III){N(R1)=C(R2)CO2}
(N4)]2+.
