Abstract
The dose-response inhibitory effect of 8-OH-DPAT on the firing rate of dorsal raphe serotoninergic neurons was shifted 10-fold to the right after acute fronto-cortical deafferentation. This finding suggests tha t the inhibitory effect of 8-OH-DPAT on the dorsal raphe firing rate m ight be mediated indirectly by the frontal cortex.
