Abstract
A hitherto unknown rotifer species was found in ponds of Donana Nation al Park (Spain) during winter 1990, 1991 and 1992. It belongs to the f amily Lecanidae (Monogononta), is related to Lecane ungulata and super ficially resembles Lecane leontina. Two specimens of this species hatc hed after two days incubation of pond sediments in the laboratory.
