Abstract
A rule based fuzzy logic controller is developed for control of produc t concentration in a fed-batch fermentor with a significant measuremen t delay. The performance of the delay compensated fuzzy logic controll er is compared by simulation with that of a delay uncompensated fuzzy controller and with that of a conventional proportional and derivative (PD) controller.
