Abstract
Preparation of alkane-grafted silica particles from aqueous commercial sols is described. The particles, grafted with C18 or C20 chains, are stable in nonpolar solvents and are suitable for small-angle neutron (SANS) and X-ray (SAXS) scattering studies. (C) 1994 Academic Press, I nc.
