FHSR - 76 CASES IN ARDENNES AREA CLINICAL AND EPIDEMIOLOGIC ASPECTS

We reported 76 cases of HFSR during two years (1992-1993) in the Arden nes area. The patients lived in the northeast part of French Ardennes, along the valley of Semoy and Meuse. Some activities are the main ris k factors : chop the trees in the forest, certains ways of building, h andling firewood stock pilled, exposure to dust. Clinical symptoms wer e no more severe than usual. Only one patient had to be dialysed. Algi c syndrome can be absent in 17%, also renal insufficiency in 45,2%. Du ring the first week, thrombopenia is always noted, and proteinurie in 68,8% of cases.
