U. Lohse et al., THE INFLUENCE OF HF ON THE INCORPORATION OF SILICON INTO THE ERIONITE-LIKE ALPO(4)-17 MOLECULAR-SIEVE, Crystal research and technology, 29(2), 1994, pp. 237-245
The synthesis of SAPO-17 with high silicon content (up to 18 weight-%)
succeeded with the addition of HF to the reaction mixtures. The chara
cterization of the samples with chemical analysis. XRD, and adsorption
measurements show the incorporation of silicon into tetrahedrally coo
rdinated framework positions. Spectroscopic methods (IR, F-19 MAS NMR)
demonstrate the presence of fluorine in the as-synthesized samples. T
he effect of the fluorine consists in (i) the improvement of the silic
on incorporation into framework positions, (ii) the stabilization of t
he as-synthesized samples and (iii) the charge compensation of the tem
plate ion by F-.
