Abstract
EPR spectra of Mn2+ in northupite single crystals were measured at X-b and and room temperature. Only one isotropic sextet is recorded for al l orientations. The hyperfine splitting constant of 81 . 10(-4) cm-1 i s in the expected range for Mn2+ in six-fold coordination. The very sm all zero field splitting gives a strong evidence that the occupied sit e by Mn-ion is the Mg-site in consistence with the preference of Mn2for such a substitution.
