Abstract
Insecticidal and acaricidal treatments: recent progress and updating o n the problem of resistance. This short review describes the principal ectoparasites of cattle encountered in Belgium, the main classes of a caricides, their spectrum of activity and their different formulations . The physiological mechanisms responsible for the development of resi stance in insects and acarines are briefly reviewed and general rules are given in order to slow down the apparition or overcome the problem of resistance or pseudoresistance in parasitic mites of cattle.
