Abstract
The design and construction of a probe for proton NMR microimaging stu
dies of small objects, in particular single cells less than 1 mm in di
ameter, at 8.5 T is described. The probe incorporates a novel RF assem
bly and novel semishielded quadrupolar gradient coils. The design crit
eria are discussed and some preliminary results presented. (C) 1994 Ac
