Abstract
The authors demonstrate for the first time broadband wavelength conver sion with amplification by four-wave mixing in semiconductor travellin g-wave optical amplifiers and verify the cubic dependence of wavelengt h conversion efficiency on the amplifier's single-pass optical gain.
