Abstract
The expression for the absorption coefficient of a plane standing wave in a low-pressure gas is obtained by solving the Schrodinger equation using the Laplace transform and by taking into account the recoil eff ect under an arbitrary degree of absorption saturation. The effect of the field intensity on the contrast and bandwidth of the Lamb dip's se parate components and on its second derivative is investigated numeric ally and analytically for the case of a resolved recoil doublet.
