Abstract
The population trapping effect (PT) in a monochromatic incoherent fiel d is discussed. An explicit form of PT states is found for atomic tran sition j(g) = 1 --> j(e) = 1. The peculiarities of PT dynamics in the incoherent field are investigated and illustrated by a plane running w ave.
