Ro. Jenkins et Tg. Cartledge, THE ISOLATION AND GROWTH OF MICROORGANISMS - COURSEWARE DEVELOPED USING AUTHORWARE-PROFESSIONAL, Binary, 6(1), 1994, pp. 32-36
Courseware is described which provides a bridge between the lecture ro
om and laboratory in the field of applied microbiology. The program, d
eveloped using Authorware Professional, simulates the practical proble
ms and decisions that need to be addressed in planning, setting up and
carrying out research and development experiments. It contains three
lessons. The Isolation of Microorganisms, Monitoring Growth in Batch C
ulture; Growth in Continuous Culture. The program has a highly structu
red linear development style and is expected to occupy the user for at
least six to eight hours. Notable features of the program include the
use of animation and many different response types. Pull-down menus g
ive access to a 'library' and indicate the users location within each
lesson.
