THERMODYNAMIC QUANTITIES ASSOCIATED WITH INTERACTION OF 2-HYDROXYPHENYLHYDRAZO-MALONONITRILE (2-HPHMN), 2-HYDROXYPHENYL-HYDRAZOETHYLCYANOACETATE (2-HPHECA) AND 2-HYDROXYPHENYLHYDRAZOETHYLACETOACETATE (2-HPHEAA) WITH DIFFERENT METAL-IONS

The interaction of 2-HPHMN, 2-HPHECA and 2-HPHEAA with Cu(II), Ni(II),
Co(II), Zn(II), Mn(II), Cd(II), Fe(III), UO2(II) and Th(IV) have been
studied potentiometrically at different temperatures in 75% (v/v) met
hanol-water medium and 0.10 M KNO3 ionic strength. The thermodynamic p
arameters of all complex systems have been analyzed in terms of electr
ostatic (el) and nonelectroscatic (non) parts. Probable structures of
the metal chelates are inferred from elemental analysis, conductance,
electronic absorption spectra, infrared and magnetic moment examinatio
n of some solid complexes.
