Rr. Nazmutdinov et al., REDUCTION PATHWAYS OF INDIUM IONS - MULTISTEP DISCHARGE OR DISPROPORTIONATION, Russian electrochemistry, 29(3), 1993, pp. 428-433
Alternative mechanisms for the discharge of indium(III) aquo complexes
were discussed on the basis of charge-transfer theory in polar solven
ts and of the methods of quantum chemistry. The components of solvent
reorganization energy, the electrostatic parts of the energy of reacta
nt and product approach, and the activation energies were estimated fo
r consecutive multistep electron transfer and for bimolecular dispropo
rtionation reactions. The importance of the preexponential factors was
discussed It was shown that consecutive discharge is more likely.
