ELECTROCATALYSTS FOR ELECTROCHEMICAL DEVICES

The requirements which must be met by electrocatalysts in electrochemi cal devices were discussed: high activity, high stability, and low cos t. The special features of catalytically active anodes and cathodes, e lectrodes of fuel cells and primary batteries, electrolyzers for the p roduction of hydrogen, chlorine, oxygen, oxygen compounds of chlorine, peroxides, and metals, as well of electrochemical equipment for the t reatment of natural waters and effluents were discussed.
