Abstract
Alpha-hydrogen transfer from alpha-phenyl-ethyl-hydroperoxide (HROOH) to excited anthraquinone, acetophenone, benzophenone occurs only in po lar aprotic acetonitrile. At the same time the triplet of duroquinone abstracts alpha-hydrogen both in polar and apolar solvents. The rate c onstants values of the latter reaction decrease with increasing solven t polarity.
