A. Sanroman et al., A COMPARISON OF 2 TECHNIQUES (ADSORPTION AND ENTRAPMENT) FOR THE IMMOBILIZATION OF ASPERGILLUS-NIGER IN POLYURETHANE FOAM, Biotechnology techniques, 8(6), 1994, pp. 389-394
Aspergillus niger was immobilized by adsorption and entrapment in poly
urethane foams and the efficiency of retention capacity, citric acid p
roductivity and the operational stability of a fluidized bed reactor w
ere then compared. The adsorption technique was superior to the entrap
ment. technique, and it was possible to obtain bioparticles capable of
keeping their activity for more than 25 days.
