Several methods have been suggested for eliminating the undesirable co
nvolutional and high-order-response terms in a binary phase-only filte
r (BPOF) (e.g., Zhang, Su, and Guo in 1987 and Davis, Cottrell, Davis,
and Lilly in 1989). We show how our previously published (in 1992) an
alysis of the basic BPOF can be applied to these methods.
