Abstract
The first measurement of the invariant cross sections and polarization s of A hyperons produced by the reaction pi- Li-6 --> GAMMAX at 4 GeV/ c in the backward angular region (70-degrees < theta(lab) < 145-degree s) has been done. In the measured region the production with free nucl eons was kinematically forbidden. All the experimental results are rep roduced by a quark-parton model calculation.
