Abstract
Within the standard model we carry out an analysis of CP-violating obs ervables in neutral B-meson decays at the Y(4S) resonance. Both time-d ependent and time-integrated CP asymmtries are calculated, without spe cial approximations, to meet various possible measurements at symmetri c and asymmetric e+e- B factories. We show two ways to distinguish bet ween direct and indirect CP-violating effects in the CP-eigenstate cha nnels such as B(d)0/B(d)0BAR --> pi+pi- and pi0K(S). Reliable knowledg e of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa phase and angles can in principle b e extracted from measurements of some non-CP-eigenstate channels, e.g. B(d)0/B(d)0BAR --> D+/-pi-/+ and [GRAPHICS] K(S), even in the presenc e of significant final-state interactions.
