Abstract
Reaction of (iPr2NP)2COFe2(CO)6 with Me3SiCHN2 or Me3SiC(Li)N2 in hexa ne gives the orange complex [(iPr2NP)2CHSiMe3]Fe2(CO)6 which has been shown by an X-ray diffraction study to have a structure in which the c arbenoid unit Me3SiCH: generated from Me3SiCHN2 has inserted into the (iPr2NP)2Fe2(CO)6 unit generated from (iPr2NP)2COFe2(CO)6 by extrusion of the phosphorus-bridging carbonyl group.
