Y. Murase et al., STRESS-ANALYSIS AROUND A CIRCULAR INTERFACE CRACK BETWEEN DISSIMILAR MEDIA LOADED BY UNIFORM TENSION AT INFINITY, Engineering fracture mechanics, 48(3), 1994, pp. 325-337
The analytic solutions for stress concentration around a circular inte
rface crack between two dissimilar elastic planes under uniform tensio
n are given and discussed. A process zone with both stresses and displ
acements at a crack tip and along the interface is assumed, and then s
ome new weight functions are determined which can relax the stress osc
illation zone for a special circular interface. It is shown that the s
tress distribution and displacements have smoothed shapes. Although th
e solutions are the elastic ones, the violent oscillations found in pa
st studies do not occur.
