The radiation induced major final products originating in the absence
and in the presence of 0.1-1.0 mol dm-3 triethylsilane (R3SiH) in deox
ygenated cyclohexane were determined. Similar experiments were perform
ed in solutions saturated with N2O. In addition to this, pulse radioly
sis of R3SiH/cyclohexane was performed. The obtained spectroscopic and
kinetic data of the saline transients are compared with those previou
sly reported in methanol solution and in pure R3SiH. Based on the expe
rimental data a reaction mechanism is suggested.
