The features of surface wave propagation along a sharp plasma-vacuum b
oundary are investigated numerically for the case of plasmas that are
non-uniform in the direction of wave propagation. On the basis of the
full set of Maxwell's equations for cold plasmas with collisions, the
distributions of the electromagnetic wave fields are calculated. The r
esults obtained demonstrate enhancement of the intensities of the elec
tric field components and absorption, without reflection, of surface w
ave energy in the vicinity of the quasistatic resonance region. This i
s in agreement with previous qualitative predictions.
