Abstract
A new method, involving the combined use of analysis and the finite-el ement method, is applicable to the heat conduction problem with isolat ed heat sources. Unlike the finite-element method, the analysis/finite -element combined method is able to discretize the distributed sources with discontinuities into course elements, and the solution is still calculated accurately. The results are compared in tables with exact s olutions and other numerical data, and the agreement is found to be go od.
