Jd. Park et al., FABRICATION OF CMOS IC FOR TELEMETERING BIOLOGICAL SIGNALS FROM MULTIPLE SUBJECTS, Sensors and actuators. A, Physical, 43(1-3), 1994, pp. 289-295
This paper presents the fabrication of an implantable CMOS IC for deve
loping a multiple subject biotelemetry system and proposes the princip
al operation of the multiple subjects telemetry. This system can trans
mit maximum 7-channel biological signals simultaneously from 8 subject
s. Implantable circuits of this system are fabricated on a single chip
with a size of 4 x 4 mm. This IC is designed not only to achieve smal
l size and low power dissipation, but also to enable continuous measur
ement of biological signals from the selected subject. The main featur
es of this system are to select one of the 8 subjects and to enable co
ntinuous measurement of the biological signals and transmit them back
to the external receiver system. Low power consumption is accomplished
by ON-OFF switching of an implanted battery by receiving command sign
als from the external circuit.
