Trimethylaluminum and the methylalumoxanes produced by its incomplete
(controlled) hydrolysis in various organic solvents have been investig
ated by Al-27 and H-1 NMR spectroscopy. Differences in the properties
and spectral characteristics of methylalumoxanes obtained in toluene a
nd pentane have been found.
