Abstract
Outdoor observations and experiments suggest that Atelura formicaria - stemming from Lasius niger or L. emarginatus colonies - can read pher omone trails on the foraging routes of Lasius niger. The trail-followi ng behaviour of this pan-myrmecophilous silverfish is probably a dispe rsal mechanism.
