Abstract
The identification and in vitro potency of a novel series of renin inh ibitors, based on pyrido-fused [6,6] ring systems is described. The sy ntheses of representative members of the series are reported. The most interesting compound, the pyrido[4,3-b]thiazine 10, shows equivalent efficacy in the conscious, sodium-depleted, marmoset following oral or intravenous administration.
