Abstract
Murayalactone, 6, has been isolated from Streptomyces murayamaensis, a nd its structure assigned with the use of inverse nmr spectroscopy. Th is constitutes the first occurrence of a dibenzo-alpha-pyrone in a Str eptomyces species, and the first biogenesis of this ring system from a decaketide.
