Abstract
Three new triterpenes isolated from the roots of Acanthothamnus aphyll us were identified as 2 alpha-hydroxy-populnonic acid and the deoxy-D: A-friedo-oleananes:2,4(23)-friedeladien-22 beta-hydroxy-21-one and 2,4 (23)-friedeladien-29-oic acid, on the basis of spectroscopic evidence.
