Abstract
The effect on the development of blackleg symptoms and on yield of ino culating seed tubers of 15 cultivars with Erwinia carotovora subsp. at roseptica (Eca) was investigated. Tubers were planted either whole or as pieces. Eca inoculation reduced the mean yield per plant by 8% for whole tubers and by 12% for cut tubers. There was no correlation betwe en blackleg symptoms and yield loss.
